We are forming a generation of girls who...

Would you like to join us in bringing menstrual cycle and period education to your community that is:

age-appropriate
 scientifically-accurate
body positive, and
developed by a Catholic mom (and NFP instructor)?!

Before you dive in, here's a quick snapshot of the key differences between GROUP HOSTING—which means purchasing an annual license to show the CYCLE PREP videos in a group setting—and LIVE WORKSHOPS with a licensed, trained facilitator:

Please note: Live workshop deliverability depends on the availability of trained facilitators in your area. The Group Hosting license is always available. Jump to Live Workshop section to view facilitator map.

GROUP HOSTING— Annual Licensing

Get started TODAY with our easy "just push play" option!

Cycle Prep is a nationally-acclaimed video course, which can easily be used by organizations through our annual licensing options. All you need is a "host" who is willing to coordinate a group viewing and push "play" for everyone to experience the course together!

Your Group Host simply needs to:

  1. Ensure you have internet access to play the videos for your event
  2. Download and print the accompanying materials for the families
  3. Hold the viewing event at a time when parents can be present, as this is designed to be a family presentation and not something for the girls themselves
  4. Uphold the association of this program with the Pearl & Thistle brand, by not offering CYCLE PREP in conjunction with programs that contradict the teachings of the Catholic Church

testimonials for group hosting:

CATHOLIC MIDDLE SCHOOL, MASSACHUSETTS
group program hosted by the school principal

"The moms in our community shared in unison that they wish they had this course when they were young! This was an immense blessing for our school, as girls' first cycles bring a few challenges to our middle school experience. I appreciated being able to go through each video at a pace that made sense for us, while allowing moms to share experiences and even concerns they had for their daughters."

DIOCESAN NFP OFFICE
group program hosted by diocesan coordinator

"Parents are very interested in this program, especially mothers. They will carve out the time and travel, even hours, to attend Cycle Prep with their daughters. Cycle Prep sets girls on a trajectory with the support of their parents to live as the healthy, vibrant, virtuous, and one day fertile women God created them to be!"

Up to 30 Families - $447

Best for small parishes, schools, or mid-sized scouting troops

CYCLE PREP group options are great for:

Schools or parishes, to host as an opt-in program for parents + daughters
Scouting groups or gatherings about body changes or self-care
Faith Formation or homeschool co-op groups
Catholic medical clinics or community education centers
A special gathering of friends, in the comfort of your home!

Why Cycle Prep?

And most importantly, it's parent-focused. Integral to the program is parents learning together with their daughters so that they can continue these conversations long past your group's event.

Woman smiling at camera with her hair in a bun, navy blue shirt, and crucifix with the words meet the creator

Hi, I'm Christina!

I'm a former campus minister, Lay Dominican, and fertility and cycle educator with more than a decade of experience.

But more importantly, I'm a mom of three girls.

And like you, my period prep wasn't very extensive, and I definitely wanted them to have a better experience than I did.

So I created Cycle Prep to teach them what I wish I had been taught at their age: The actual facts of what happens during periods and menstrual cycles so that they can be confident in and proud of their body's design.

I meet them where they're at - honest, straight-up but age-appropriate biological facts and terms without dumbing it down or vague "you'll know once you get it" kind of answers (because that just fills them with more fear).

All presented from the heart of a mom who just wants the next generation of girls to be better and more positively prepared for puberty.

If you are interested in being trained as a CYCLE PREP facilitator, please sign up for our email notification list! Facilitator training runs semi-annually. Note that applicants must either have attended a live workshop, a group-hosted viewing, or viewed the at-home CYCLE PREP course as a pre-requisite for acceptance into the training program.

Presenting Cycle Prep in a religious setting? I highly recommend supplementing the video modules with a FREE mini video course called "Made in His Image: Pint-Sized TOB for Catholic Families"

Paired with Cycle Prep, it takes the biological conversations around menstruation and cycles a step further by placing them in the context of God's design for the body.

When you contact me about your group license needs, let me know if you would like to add "Made in His Image" to your group hosting and I will add your free access!

Got Questions?

Can I preview the videos?
It makes sense that you wouldn't be ready to jump in unless you know what to expect! Organizations that are interested in Group Hosting can email hello@pearlandthistle.com to request limited preview access, and are encouraged to speak directly with Live Workshop Presenters to inquire about format/content for their programs.
Can I purchase a license and have someone else host?
Licenses need to be purchased directly by hosts, in order to ensure that you have access to all of the materials. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide single licenses that cover multiple hosts.
Am I allowed to charge attendees when I host an event?
Your license comes with a Welcome Letter and Planning Guide which address many of the logistics of hosting, but the short answer is: yes! As the host, you do a lot of important work to bring Cycle Prep to your community - whether that's a large parish, or a small group of friends! - and it is perfectly fine for you to seek compensation for that time. You are also very welcome to offer Cycle Prep events for free to your community if that is your preference, although in that case I would recommend asking for a "pay what you can" donation to offset hosting costs and ensure commitment from attendees.
Is this program specifically for religious groups?
Cycle Prep itself is not a religious program, though it is rooted in key concepts like respect for the design of our bodies. If you would like to include explicitly religious components with your Cycle Prep events, you are welcome to show the "Made in His Image" videos, which explain what Catholics believe about the goodness of our bodies and give an introduction to the concept of the Language of the Body as it relates to body literacy for girls.
If I purchase one level of license, but find out that I need a different level, how can I change my subscription?
Please reach out to Christina if you have questions about different licensing levels. I am happy to work with individuals to find a plan which suits your needs!
I think I could actually deliver the talks. Does this license allow me to host the Cycle Prep workshop myself?
This license allows you to play the Cycle Prep videos as recorded. It does not grant permission for individuals to actually present the Cycle Prep program. If you are interested in being trained to facilitate Cycle Prep workshops, please scroll up to the section on Live Workshops, which contains a link to sign up to receive notifications about trainings.
